Netflix mojin the lost legend
Explosions and crumbling rocks and falling boulders energize deep bass channels. The 5.1 Mandarin surround sound mix is strong and immersive. Special effects are also excellent, even in scenes with extensive GCI environments. It is used well to enhance the visual experience in several key scenes. 3D quality is excellent! I especially enjoyed the shifting aspect ratio.

I agree with the13thman 100 percent! The film is crystal clear and bright with great contrast throughout the entire 3D presentation, surprising considering that much of the movie takes place within the sprawling dark caves and tunnels of the subterranean tomb. I watched Mojin The Lost Legend 3D last night. After Region A got stiffed out of this one all looked lost so I'm super glad that it's made it out in Region B. They appear at the top of the screen sometimes and don't clash with the pop out. Kudos to Capelight for including English subtitles too, rare for a German release of a Chinese 3D movie. I found the film itself somewhat uneven but there was more than enough tomb raiding action and quality 3D to keep me happy. All the IMAX scenes look the best of course but it's a very good looking movie overall - I'm not surprised that the 2D reviews commented on effects made for 3D because there are a fair few 3D eye candy scenes that just can't look as good flat. There's proper depth and pop outs and the volume and separation are of a higher quality than the not-unrelated Chronicles Of The Ghostly Tribe. Rather than extolling “marriage,” this movie leads couples to the ultimate “comradeship.” The Chinese movie theater business has boomed under more capitalist policies, but MOJIN – THE LOST LEGEND seems to glorify the days when Chinese communism was in its heyday during the late 1960s.Very impressive 3D on this one. The images of zombies and other scary creatures would be unhealthy for children. The violence is a bit stronger that most American action adventures, with more blood evident. The special effects are on a par with many Hollywood movies, but the acting is a bit more like Bollywood where they love to include buffoonish characters for comic relief. The surprise is that it’s absolutely loaded with foul language. MOJIN – THE LOST LEGEND has done spectacular business in China. Hu and the third Mojin tomb raider, Shirley, show up and join in much more special effects laden mayhem. The greedy capitalists prove to be a front for a cult seeking the flower. Returning to New York, Wang is recruited by a multinational mining company to return to the place of the earlier mayhem in a quest for the life reviving equinox flower. The beautiful young girl Ding gives her life to help Hu and Wang escape. Only Hu and Wang escape as an army of Japanese soldier zombies came to life. In doing so, they unleash deadly mystical forces killing most of the troop. They stumble upon a field of mysterious statues, which they decide to destroy for their representation of bourgeois Chinese history.

The story then flashes back 20 years to a happy journey of young Communist revolutionaries singing the praises of Chairman Mao. The story opens in 1989 with three Chinese tomb raiders hawking Chinese artifacts on the run down streets of New York as good luck charms. MOJIN – THE LOST LEGEND is a big adventure movie with a strong humanist, communist, anti-capitalist worldview and lots of foul language. MOJIN – THE LOST LEGEND is a Chinese action adventure about tomb raiders who run into zombies and all sorts of bloody mayhem in their quest for a famous “equinox flower” artifact with the alleged power to raise the dead. The scary zombies and other creatures in MOJIN would be unhealthy for children. The violence is a bit stronger than most American action adventures, with more blood. It also has a strong humanist, anti-capitalist worldview that’s pro-communist. Surprisingly, MOJIN – THE LOST LEGEND has excessive foul language. Back in 1989, a nefarious multinational mining company recruits the Mojin raiders to return to the field to find a life-reviving flower. Thus, they unleash deadly mystical forces killing most of the troop. They stumble upon a field of mysterious statues, which they destroy because they represent “bourgeois” Chinese history.
